Alan Lawlor is a classically trained Military Musician, currently employed by the Irish Defence Forces as a clarinet player, and is a much sought after singer and performer. He has a broad repertoire in relation to music and instruments and, in addition to the above, is proficient in playing the guitar, bodhran, saxophone and tin whistle.
In 2011/ 2012, Alan appeared on the very first series of «The Voice of Ireland», where he was mentored closely by Sharon Corr (The Corrs) and Don Mescall. During his time on the show, Alan received numerous testimonials and compliments on his singing abilities from Westlife’s Kian Egan, The Blizzard’s Niall Breslin («Bressie»), Brian Kennedy and Sharon Corr – but Don Mescall saying «I’ve been around singers for a long time and I think you are world class» was probably the most notable.
Alan has also appeared on TG4’s «Opry an Luir» where he accompanied legendary Irish Singer TR Dallas as a guitar player and backing vocalist.
