Don Mescall left Ireland in the early nineties, to move to London to focus on his singer/songwriter career. His first cut as a songwriter soon followed with « Road to Glory » (a song written about the country he had left behind), recorded by the Irish folk artist Eleanor Shanley. The song quickly caught the ear of other major Irish artists, and lead to Don Mescall’s first publishing deal. Soon, other songs of Don Mescall’s found their way to Irish artist’s albums, including a cut with Frances Black, who later went on to record nine other of Don Mescall’s songs over the years.
2017 was truly a phenomenal year for the Irish singer/songwriter, picking up a lifetime achievement award in February and also Songwriter of the year at the ICMA’s in May. Other highlights included three No.1 singles with Nathan Carter, and another No.1 single with Geri Halliwell.
