Neo-traditionalist country-singer Daryle Singletary was born on March 10, 1971 in Cairo, Georgia. His father was a postal worker and his mother was a hair dresser. He starts singing gospel music with his cousins and brother at an early age. In high school he began taking vocal classes. In Nashville Singletary started work as a demo singer. One of the demos that he recorded was «An Old Pair of Shoes», which was recorded by Randy Travis. Travis recommended Singletary to his management team, who helped him sign to a recording contract with Giant Records. He was among the brightest new stars to arrive on the contemporary country scene of the mid-’90s, winning fans with his simple, honest song craft and distinctively gravelly vocals.
In 2009, Daryle Singletary returned to Koch Records under the label’s new name of E1 Music. He released his next single, «Love You with the Lights On» in February. The single was the lead-off single to a new album, «Rockin’ in the Country», released in June 2009.
Thru a licensing agreement between E1 Music and AGR Television Records the album «Rockin’ in the Country» was released internationally as well. While in the US only one single, «Love You with the Lights On», was released the international release had three singles. Besides of the US single the radios played «Rockin in the Country» (with Charlie Daniels) and the cover-version of John Denver’s hit «(Take Me Home) Country Roads». The amount of airplay made this album promotional wise most successful Daryle Singletary album in Europe. As a result Singletary started touring Europe. His first performance was 2010 at the Country Rendez-Vous festival in Craponne sur Arzon (France). In the next year he continued performing in Europe and played shows in several countries, including Germany and Scandinavian countries.
