Vince Cardell

Vince Cardell was born as Vincent M. Cardile on September 16, 1938 in Bronx, New York as the oldest of three boys.

He was an extraordinary pianist who spent seven years touring the world with the incomparable Liberace. Cardell was discovered by Liberace at the Ramada Inn in Tarrytown NY, where he was performing in the lounge a few miles from the New York Theatre where Liberace was performing on the same night. The virtuoso was more than impressed with the young musician’s undeniable talent, and spent the next year perfecting that talent. Cardell joined Liberace as his first and only protégé, touring the world, and performing their spectacle of a show for tens of thousands of adoring fans.

Cardell’s appearances with Liberace included performances on many of the most popular shows of the time, such as The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Dinah Shore, The Merv Griffin Show, and The Mike Douglas Show.

Cardell was featured during numerous Las Vegas concerts, as well as, a number of well-known nightclubs across the country. Liberace even managed his career for a time. But eventually, Cardell formed his own band and hit the strip of Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City, before signing with Dennis Management and making Nashville his permanent home. For over seven years Cardell performed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel six nights per week in front of 4 to 6,000 fans each night.

Desafortunadamente, Vince Cardell falleció pacíficamente el 29 de mayo de 2012. Le sobreviven un hijo, una hija, un nieto y una nieta.
