The LenneBrothers Band is a rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly, and country band that emerged from The Lennerockers. In creating their own mix of these musical genres, it became their trademark. The LenneBrothers Band was founded by Michael “Ele” Koch and Stefan “Teddy” Koch.
In 1979, the piano lessons that brothers Michael “Ele” Koch (September 5, 1966) and Stefan “Teddy” Koch (September 28, 1968) took a decisive turn. The so-called “rock ‘n’ roll revival” artists entered the German music charts, with the band Matchbox (“Rockabilly Rebel”) and singer Shakin’ Stevens (“This Ole House”) leading the way. From then on, it was all about rock ‘n’ roll for the two teenagers: Whether playing the piano, listening to the radio, or even how they styled their hair, the wild music of the 50s became an increasingly integral part of their lives.
In 1982, they decided to start a band of their own. Calling themselves The Lennerockers. Inspired by where they came from (the Lenne is the river that flows through Hohenlimburg, the Koch brothers’ hometown), The Lennerockers name stuck. What resulted was 32 successful years with over 2.500 concerts in 20 countries and an entry in the Guinness Book of Records (2003) for the highest rock ‘n’ roll concert of all time. Self-written hits on the scene such as “High Class Lady” from 1995 are still covered by many bands to this day and are a must for any rock ‘n’ roll record hop or country line dance event throughout the world.
New Year’s Eve 2016 would be the final concert for the old lineup – after that, it was time for a change! After some personnel adjustments, there was new wind in the sails again and the group – now called the LenneBrothers Band – picked up speed straight away. The original lineup would consist of Michael Koch (piano/lead vocals), Stefan Koch (guitar/vocals), Claus Coxx (slap bass/vocals) and Andreas Kässens (drums)! Both of the other band members were already part of the extended The Lennerockers squad (Andy since 2009 and Claus since 2015) and can look back on many years of rock ‘n’ roll experience in various bands (Andy: Sam Spade and the Bangers / Claus: Blues Missiles). Every LenneBrothers Band live show serves as a reminder that the four of them are having serious fun.
