Scooter Lee

Scooter Lee hits into the studio again

16. January 2017
Scooter Lee

Scooter Lee is back in the studio to record a new country record.

Longtime Producer Rodney Mills who produced Platinum Sales for Doobie Brothers, Greg Allman, Black Crow, 38 Special took country singer Scooter Lee back into Nashville Studios in December 2016 with the A-Team of Musicians to record her next album. The music is co-produced by Bjørn Nessjø of Abba fame who flew in from Norway for the sessions.

The so far untitled project is the follow up album of the “I’m Gonna Love You Forever” album by Scooter Lee. The album will contain 18 tracks that were recorded at Soundshop Studios owned by Martina McBride. This session may have turned that corner with cuts like “Silver Wings”, “Hinges on The Door”, “Sweet Dreams” and Scooter Lee originals “Down to Louisiana” and “Devoted to You” plus so many more. Scooter Lee went back some 30-40 years to pick some great old standards that she can make new again along with writing some songs that lean toward her Cajun Louisiana upbringing.

It was a marathon of old memories with the A-Team of Musicians originally from Muscle Shoals Alabama that Scooter Lee has worked with for 20+ years who were currently working with Bob Seger and Carrie Underwood. (how do you follow that?) Keyboard Player Steve Nathan is by far the greatest, most influential player in Nashville and his friendship with Rodney Mills led to him leading the team with Scooter Lee over 20 years ago. He organizes the team of seven players creates the charts, finds the studio and helps with creating the unique sound that belongs to Scooter Lee.

The new Country album by Scooter Lee will be released physically as well as digitally thru AGR Television Records and will hit the shelves in spring 2017.

LenneBrothers Band signs with AGR Television Records

9. December 2016
LenneBrothers Band

The rock ‘n’ roll, country, and rockabilly combo LenneBrothers Band has signed a record deal with AGR Television Records.

The Lennerockers had been making music together since 1984. When the band announced their split in spring 2016, their fans were, naturally, extremely disappointed. Now, two of The Lennerockers’ founding members, Michael “Ele” Koch und Stefan “Teddy” Koch, have decided not to hang up their music hats just yet. The two musicians have music in their genes, and not bearing to leave it behind them, have now founded the LenneBrothers Band.

As the name LenneBrothers Band obviously suggests, the two are brothers, who will continue to take to the stage together. Joining them will be Andreas Kaessens on drums and Claus Coxx on the slap bass, both of whom regularly appeared with The Lennerockers. The LenneBrothers Band’s music will reflect the mix of rock ‘n’ roll, country, and rockabilly that previously proved a hit for the Lennerockers.

The band intends to take a break at the start of 2017, to write songs for a new studio album. The album is scheduled to be launched by AGR Television Records in physical and digital form at the end of May 2017. The debut album is as yet untitled. For the LenneBrothers Band, there was no question about signing a record deal with AGR Television Records, since the two had already worked together successfully for several years. Lead singer Michael “Ele” Koch said of the new contract: “We’re in very good hands with AGR Television Records. We enjoy artistic freedom and are supported creatively in realizing and spreading our vision of music. That’s why we’ve signed a five-year deal with an experienced team and huge potential for the future!”

In spring 2017, the LenneBrothers Band will also be playing live on tour again. A number of concerts are already on the tour schedule for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Great Britain. The tour will kick off on March 18, 2017 with the big “Shake Rattle and Roll Weekender” in Great Yarmouth, Great Britain.

27. July 2015

“Paddy The Musical”, based on the song “Paddy” written by Gerry Carney and published by AGR Television Music Publishing, will celebrate its premiere on September 24, 2015 at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar, Mayo, in Ireland before it goes on a nationwide tour.

The musical stars multi-award winning singer Tommy Fleming in his first major acting role. This must-see show – co-written by Tommy Fleming alongside singer/songwriter Gerry Carney and Tommy Marren tells the story of Patrick Murphy who emigrates to England to start a new life on the building sites of London. With a gripping storyline that is set in both Ireland and England over a 25-year period – alongside 13 original songs – “Paddy The Musical” promises to be a unique night of stunning drama and spectacular music.

Gerry Carney is one of the most respected songwriters in Ireland. He is continuously touring England and America and tells the stories behind his songs, these are stories that everyone can identify with, and the lyrics combined with powerful melodies have earned him a dedicated fan base. From his first album, “The Flame” (1995), Carney has dedicated his career to writing and recording original songs. It was not always an easy road, but dedication and belief have led him to the top of his game as a singer songwriter. His career so far has seen him work with the likes of Van Morrison and Alison Krauss to name bit a few. His songs have been recorded by many other artists and he is constantly in demand as a songwriter. One of his most popular and many times covered song is “Paddy”, a song dedicated to the forgotten Irish. The people that left Ireland for work, and sent the money home to support the families they left behind.

20. April 2015
Kevin Chase, Mary Sarah, Wallek Bros.

Universal Music Germany has just released a 3 CD box set with a total of 60 country songs. “Sounds Like Nashville” accompanies the major label’s new website, which is at the same URL, is part of the Udiscover website, and is intended to make the record company’s country release public.

The Wallek Bros. celebrate their major label compilation debut under “Americana & Folk”. The two newcomers from Germany contribute their version of John Carter Cash’s “Bitter Harvest”. “Modern Country” brings Canadian Kevin Chase with “Whole Lotta Honey”. “Sounds Like Nashville” is available exclusively in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

The Lennerockers make it to no. 1 four times on Amazon with their “& Friends” double CD

13. April 2015
The Lennerockers

The Lennerockers have been a firm fixture on the European country and rock ‘n’ roll scene for years. The band has been performing for more than three decades, delighting not only the older generation, but constantly managing to attract new fans as well. As it has just proved again.

The reissue of its “…and Friends” albums (Volumes 1 and 2) at the end of January/beginning of February of this year resulted in a veritable fireworks of sales – despite the fact that Lennerockers fans of many years’ standing quite possibly still have the original black discs on their shelves. The reissue made it to no. 1 on Amazon’s sales charts no fewer than four times.

It also made it straight to no. 1 in new releases in the rockabilly genre, the country genre and new releases in all genres on Amazon in Germany. “The Lennerockers and Friends” also went to no. 1 in new releases in the rock ‘n’ roll genre on Amazon in France.

And this means The Lennerockers have managed to exceed the initial sales successes of their last studio album, “Rustin’ & Rollin'”.

Wallek Bros. finish work on their debut album

19. January 2015
Wallek Bros.

Based on the motto that “a good thing is worth waiting for”, David and Jan Wallek, better known as Wallek Bros., have been taking time out for the past year to work on their debut album. The result is a debut creation that spans different genres, and it will make a positive impression on music critics and consumers alike.

Wallek Bros. have recorded 14 songs for the album, which has the working title of “Insert / Play” (working title). In all these songs David and Jan make the principal musical contribution, not only singing but also playing guitar, banjo, bass and piano. The brothers co-produced the album together Martin Claas.

The single “One Out of Three”, first published on 31 December 2013, has been re-recorded for this album, and on 6 February 2015 the brothers will be giving an advance preview of their artistry – the song “Bitter Harvest”, written by John Carter Cash, has made it onto the “Sounds like Nashville” compilation.

The entire album then becomes available, from high street stores and as a download, on 1 June 2015.

Daryle Singletary

Daryle Singletary chooses AGR Television Records again for international release

12. January 2015
Daryle Singletary

Daryle Singletary and AGR Television Records have again partnered for the country singer’s newest CD release “There’s Still A Little Country Left“. AGR Television Records released Singletary’s last CD “Rockin’ In The Country” through a licensing deal with eOne Music in the United States. That release in those international markets by AGR opened the door for the “I Let Her Lie” singer to perform in Europe. In 2012 he played, for his first time ever, at the Country Rendez-Vous festival in Craponne-sur-Arzon (France). Concerts in Denmark and Germany followed as well as in France where they asked Singletary to return.

Daryle Singletary says of the new project, “This is the PERFECT traditional country record in every way. I have been blessed with co-writing a lot of the songs on this project with some GREAT hit songwriters and had an awesome time recording with the greatest world class musicians Nashville has to offer. I hope this will be a great record for traditional country music fans to add to their collection.”

The new international version of the CD “There’s Still A Little Country Left” contains 10 new songs and one additional bonus track, “I’m The Only Hell (My Mama Ever Raised)” which is a duet with Country legend Johnny Paycheck. Paycheck’s version of this track was discovered about 3 years ago in the attic of former Paycheck manager and producer, Dan Mitchell. The song comes from a previously unreleased recording session at Burns Sound Studio in February 1992 with Paycheck covering 11 of his classic country hits. The physical and digital release of Daryle Singletary’s newest CD “There’s Still A Little Country Left” is scheduled for March 30, 2015.

The Lennerockers

The Lennerockers re-releasing their “and Friends” albums

5. January 2015
The Lennerockers

1992 saw a number of significant happenings: on 1 January the Stasi Records Act became law in Germany, Boutros Boutros-Ghali was appointed Secretary-General of the UN, a ceasefire took place in the conflict between Serbia and Croatia, the foreign and financial ministers of the EU’s member states signed the Treaty on European Union in Maastricht, more than 50 people lost their lives in the violent Rodney King race riots which broke out in California and continued for six days, over 1,000 young members of the radical right carried out pogroms at the central point of contact for asylum seekers in the Rostock suburb of Lichtenhagen, and two Turkish women and a ten-year-old girl were killed in an arson attack in Moelln.

But it wasn’t all global politics – there were also a few significant events in the entertainment industry. The Franco-German TV broadcasting station ARTE went on air for the first time, the first Bravo Hits Sampler came out and The Lennerockers published their first “and Friends” CD, which quickly acquired cult status on the rock ‘n roll scene. This was followed in 1997 by a second volume, which was equally successful.

For years the Lennerockers were unable to re-press the CDs, but the rock ‘n roll community was always eager to acquire the discs, and people sometimes paid horrendous prices for second-hand copies. And no wonder, when the CDs include titles like “Chills” with Freddie Fingers Lee, “Sweet Love On My Mind” with Sandy Ford, “Rockin’ Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu” with Charlie Gracie and the last recordings of Rose Maddox and Johnny Carroll.

Now, on 2 February 2015, the CDs are being reissued in a remastered version as a two-CD pack. In addition to the 28 songs that formed part of the original albums, the double CD also includes 10 bonus tracks, including “Home of The Blues”‘ with Peter Caulton, “Tear It Up” with Graham Fenton and “White Mice, Pink Elephants and Strong Brown Liqueur” in a new recording with the German band Danny and the Wonderbras. The double album will not just be on sale in its physical incarnation, either – for the first time all the songs will also be obtainable as a digital download.

AGR Television Records announces a new Christian/Gospel CD from Cody McCarver

17. February 2014
Cody McCarver

Cody McCarver and his family were staples of their local Church of God of Prophecy and by the age of 9 Cody had become the church pianist. For many years, Cody remained the piano player at his local Church and performed with multiple southern gospel and contemporary Christian acts.

Cody branched out into acting, appearing in two motion pictures released by movie giant Lionsgate entitled “Cole Younger and the Black Train”, with Michael Madsen (“Thelma and Louise”, “Reservoir Dogs”) and “Billy The Kid”. Two more movies, “L.A. Dirt” and “Vengeance Without Mercy” will be released nationwide in 2014. As well as acting roles, Cody has also written and recorded songs for all of these motion pictures. In 2012-2013 Cody began to return to his first love, gospel music and the church. He began to write songs for a gospel CD in hopes of creating a new project that carried a positive message of hope still wrapped in that all too familiar style Cody’s fans worldwide had come to know and love.

On April the 19th 2013, Cody received a phone call from the Tennessee State Prison where his father was incarcerated. Suddenly and unexpectedly his father had passed away. Cody states, “After fifteen years of visiting my father and fighting for his freedom, I never dreamed that this chapter of his story would end this way. I had prayed many times for God to help me free my Dad. When I received the phone call that my father had passed away, I viewed my endless prayers as going unanswered. When I woke up the following morning, God put his hand on my shoulder and said to me, I answered your prayer, what more do you want? He had truly set my Daddy free.” Cody immediately put pen to paper and wrote the title track from his new gospel CD “The Lord’s Will”, taken from Luke 22:42, “not my will however, but your will be done”. Cody states, “The first two lines of the song say it all, “If you want to hear God laugh tell him your plans, you don’t write the script you’re in his hands“.

The new full length gospel CD from Cody McCarver, “The Lord’s Will“, features six brand new songs written by Cody and four standards done in pure Cody fashion. AGR Television Records will release the album physically and digitally in the international market at the end of April 2014.
